Pillars

Since the founding of Pi Alpha Phi at Clemson University, the brothers have shared many memories with each other and other organizations, on and off campus. However, even through all of the fun, each of the brothers maintain high standards of conduct that align with the five indisputable pillars of Pi Alpha Phi: philanthropy, asian awareness, academic excellence, leadership, and most importantly, brotherhood.

Philanthropy

Pillar 1: Philanthropy - Similar to community service in the terms of giving back to the community or the desire to promote the welfare of others. This is expressed with the donation of money or through raising awareness for a cause.

The brothers of Pi Alpha Phi have participated in many philanthropy events, including pie-a-pineapple, adopt-a-highway, tea event for jade ribbons, and more. The Clemson Chi Chapter of Pi Alpha Phi strives to do philanthropy in both fields of donation of money raised and raising awareness for a cause.

Asian Awareness

Pillar 2: Asian Awareness - One of the many things that differentiates Pi Alpha Phi from other social fraternities, is bringing Asian culture to the mix. This pillar was one of the founding fathers' main goals when this fraternity was founded in 1929

Some of the Asian awareness events that the brothers have participated in are Hinamatsuri and hosting the Lantern Festival for the Lunar New Years each year that has become a popular event on the Clemson Campus.

Academic Excellence

Pillar 3: Academic Excellence - Men of Pi Alpha Phi are always ascending with our efforts and focus in the pursuit of academic excellence.

To achieve this goal, the brothers of Pi Alpha Phi are each willing to help and support each other in trying times in studies - this includes tutoring, reserving rooms, and other legal means.

Leadership

Pillar 4: Leadership - Every brother strives to be the best person they can be and become the better leader of tomorrow. A true leader knows not only when to lead, but also when to follow.

Within Pi Alpha Phi Fraternity there are many leadership roles in which different members assume and are allowed to lead the rest of the active house in duties and events. Furthermore, members can and have taken positions in the Multicultural Greek Council.

Brotherhood

Pillar 5: Brotherhood - The bond of loyalty and trust formed between each men of Pi Alpha Phi  to allow support and motivate each other. A house must be built on solid ground, and for a Fraternity to thrive, its basis of brotherhood must hold its foundation strong.

This pillar is observed on a day to day basis. While every action we take is from a business standpoint to achieve the best outcome for our organization, we pride ourselves on the strength of our brotherhood that easily imitates the Clemson campus atmosphere of "Family".
